British 60 Pattern DPM Smock

Following my previous post about the 50 Pattern green smock, the British were later issued what is called the 60 Pattern smock, which was still in green.

It wasn’t until around mid-1966 that the British began developing the 60 Pattern smock in DPM (Disruptive Pattern Material) camouflage. This smock is often dubbed the ‘66 Pattern Smock,’ even though the correct designation is still the 60 Pattern smock.

Mine was made by Cookson & Clegg Ltd., and the label says SMOCK COMBAT (1960 Pattern). The details retained from the 50 Pattern include the collar reinforcement, pen pocket, and pocket pleats.

Size 1 – 8405-99-122-7329 – A/78/CLO/28791/DB69(1). Based on information from Google, mine was made around the 1969-1970 time period. Later, the 1968 Pattern DPM Combat suit was introduced and issued from 1972 onwards.
