Indonesian Loreng Malvinas/DPM camouflage. In 1984 the Indonesian armed forces standardized their uniform by adopting DPM camouflage. I’m still not entirely sure what the first pattern was—whether it was made from British surplus or copied. If it was copied, where did it come from?

But at least, what I’m showing here is the earliest piece in my collection that made under the 1984/85 contract. And what’s rarer than that? It is the two-tone color version (similar to the Clown ERDL I previously posted), and the left SSI patch still says PARA-KOMANDO instead of the later Kopassus. This denotes the very early adoption by Kopassandha during the 1984-85 period, before the name was changed on December 26, 1986.

The exact patch configuration can be seen in above photo. Brigjen TNI Wismoyo Arismunandar handing over command of Kopassandha to Colonel Sintong Panjaitan, May 22, 1985.
