Certificate awarding U.S. Army Airborne Wings to 2nd Sergeant Sujardi following the completion of Exercise Balance Iron 94-1. Issued by the 1st Special Forces Group (Airborne), Fort Lewis, Washington, and dated 7 February 1994. The certificate recognizes Sujardi’s successful completion of airborne training conducted as part of the joint exercise between Kopassus and the U.S. Army Special Forces.
Certificate presented to Sergeant Sudjardi upon the successful completion of the Special Operations Training Course during Exercise Balance Iron 94-1. The course was conducted by ODA 186, Company B, 3rd Battalion, 1st Special Forces Group (Airborne), U.S. Army, at Group 3/Pusdikpassus, Batujajar, Indonesia, from 11 January to 19 February 1994. Signed by the Commanding Officer of the 3rd Battalion, 1st Special Forces Group (Airborne), the certificate commemorates Sudjardi’s participation in the joint U.S.-Indonesian special operations training.
Following the completion of the course, Sudjardi can be seen wearing the U.S. Army Airborne Tab on his right shoulder. On his right chest are the U.S. Army Parachutist Badge (“Jump Wings”) and — more unusually — the U.S. Army Marksman Marksmanship Qualification Badge with Pistol Bar—a rarely encountered insignia on Indonesian military personnel.
